Social Media Management and Personal Branding for Musicians
In our times it is not enough to be a good musician. There is a huge competition among artists and limited interest of music projects. In this case, only those who are great in what they do, they are distinctive and they communicate it successfully to their audience might have a satisfactory career.
Even if the “savoir faire” retains all its importance, never as today the “faire savoire” has become an essential component of the musician profession.
One of the myths with which the usual music student grows is that it is enough to be good to succeed in emerging.
Perhaps in the past it could have been so, but in today’s world, where the most precious commodity is attention, where you are evaluated for what about you is found on Google and Facebook, where what matters are the views on Youtube, is absolutely impossible to get noticed without a careful marketing strategy.
And the musicians who do not take it into account, due to a sort of retro snobbishness (or perhaps due to simple incapacity) risk being outclassed by competitors who are perhaps less gifted but more savvy in the use of new technologies.
On the other hand, the internet world is made up of rules that are constantly changing, attempts, “tricks”, and a musician cannot afford to waste his days posting videos, images and messages.
Here then is that relying on a Social Media Manager becomes the required solution for the professional musician.
